Gordon Dunne is a long time North Down resident, married with a young family, and is serving his first term as a Member of the Northern Ireland Assembly, having been elected in May 2011. Gordon is currently a Member of the Health Committee and the Enterprise, Trade and Investment Committee within the Northern Ireland Assembly and has now opened his new Full Time North Down Constituency Advice Centre.
Gordon has also served as a Councillor on North Down Borough Council for 26 years, including a term as Mayor and Deputy Mayor. He was first elected as a Councillor in 1981 and is a renowned constituency worker. During his time as local representative, he has amassed a wide range of experience in constituency work, dealing with many issues, including Planning, Educational concerns, Housing and Roads matters.
Gordon is Chairman of the North Down Democratic Unionist Association, and has been for many years. Gordon is a member of the Board of Governors in Holywood and Redburn Primary Schools, and currently is a representative on the Down Rural Area Partnership.
He is an advocate for maintaining Christian standard
